Q: Is a 2004 Mazda 6 a reliable, overall good car?
I'm in need of a used car but will last me years to come. So will this car look good, get good gas mileage and not be in the shop?
A: I bought a used Mazda 6 in Nevada last month and saved some cash. I haven't had any problems yet. I only buy used cars. http://www.findusedcardealer.com
Q: Why is it so hard to sell my 2004 Mazda 6??
It's in good condition, externally and mechanically. The milage is right for the year (Around 40,000 miles). The private party bluebook for it is around 16,000, and I'm only asking 14,000 OBO. Why can't I sell my car? Am I doomed to forever keep the mazda and never get the Grand Marquis that I have my heart set on??
A: Your pricing way too high for being an individual seller. Who do you know that has $14,000 in cash waiting to drop on you. Reason the other companies can do it, is they finance and people pay payments. Only way your going to sell that car is drop the price under 10K, or go trade it in
Q: 2004 Mazda 6 and noise?
I bought a 2004 Mazda 6. It has hardly any KM's on it, and seems to be running great for the most part. Its automatic with a 4 cylinder engine with "turbo"? (Im not much of a car expert here)...
I noticed when I first turn it on after its been sitting for awhile, it is louder. After a few seconds it gets quieter and seems to run more smoothly, then I start driving. Is it normal for it to sound kind of loud when first turned on? I really love my new car, Im just paranoid...I dont want anything to go wrong with it and Im not made of money!!!!
A: When you initially turn on a car the engine is in a slightly more accelerated state to heat up the engine. Once the engine reaches the desired temperature the engine reduces its acceleration. This is normal. If your car shows you the RPMs of your engine, experiment with it. When you first drive you car in the day, driving and during a stop, shifting to neutral, then back to drive. Turning the engine off once it is warm and then turning it on seconds later. You will notice that under all these different states the engine is running at different RPMs. This is the car's computer making the necessary adjustments according to the condition the car is in.
Q: what to do if low coolant light came on in Mazda 6 2004?
should i just fill up my car with coolant fluid, if so what kind, the car is not over heating, the coolant low level light just came on.
A: you should check the manual if the 6 takes straight coolant or a 50-50 mixture of coolant and water (some auto places sell the 50-50 mix so u dont have to do it yourself), then pop the hood and fill it up to the max line when the car is off. if you add it when the car is on, the coolant level wont be accurate because some of it will have been sucked into the cooling system as the engine runs.
since you said your car isnt overheating, dont add straight water, thats pretty much for emergencies. adding water will rust out your radiator, and plus, the boiling temperatures of water and coolant are a big difference, water will be hotter on your engine
dont wait to check up on this cuz last thing you want is to overheat the engine, thats going to do some damage, i think the 6 has an aluminum engine tho dont quote me on that, all i know is my brother warned me bout keeping the 3 engine cooled cuz its pretty light and delicate.
and if the coolant level is fine, check your hoses, or maybe the gauge needs to be fixed.... good luck
Q: 2004 Mazda 6-6 disc CD player stopped working-help!?
My 2004 Mazda 6- 6 disc CD player stopped working. I was driving to work, hit CD and when I went to switch from one CD to another it wasn't doing anything---now all 6 CDs are still in there and nothing happens when you touch any button. When you hit the unload button you hear the beeping but it won't come out. I called Mazda and have to call back on Monday when they are open.....any suggestions? How much will this cost to get fixed? My car is out of warranty :(
A: A good car audio repair shop can replace the loading mechanism for less than $200 - without having to buy a new one.
I've had CD changers go bad on me - on Carmax purchased used cars with an extended warranty.

Q: 2004 Mazda 6 rattle!! Help!?
I have a 2004 mazda 6. When it is cold, it rattles/grinds when I make turns. Once it is warmed up it makes similar noises when I am in D and stopped at lights, or when I am parked. What could this be? It seems to be coming from under the car or in the engine. Thanks
A: It could be numerous things, none of which can be correctly diagnosed without seeing the car. I'd call a few shops where you live and find a shop that will inspect it for free, take advantage of that service, and go from there.
Q: Help on a 2004 Mazda 6 stereo?
I have a 6 CD Bose factory stereo and I want to install an amplifier for my subwoofers and speakers. Does anyone know if it is possible and if so can someone tell me how....
Also does anyone know if I can somehow install a MP3 input?
A: It can be done, but if you are not experienced this is best left to professionals. Check with a company called Peripheral to see if there is a harness you can just plug in.
Otherwise, you will have to locate your factory amp and disconnect it, then figure out which wires go to your speakers. Then you would connect those wires to your new amp. The hard part will be the input. You would need to figure out which wires going to the amp are the input signals and connect these to the high-level inputs of your new amp. If your new amp doesn't have high level inputs, you will need to buy a line-level converter. The moral of the story here is if you haven't got the new amp already, make sure you buy one that accepts high-level inputs. Another thing - if your input to the amp is via a din cable (a round cable with a pin plug on each end), then you will most certainly need a converter.
As you can see, this can be complicated. If you want a nice system, properly installed, shell out the extra $75 to have the amp installed by a pro.

Q: 2004 Mazda 6 low beams are not working?
First I thought my left headlight was out then the next day it worked then it wasn't again. then 2 night ago both where not working I got new bulbs, But the old ones were still good? My high beams work and directionals work just not the low beams? I tried to find the fuse but can't find it anywhere or could there be a shortage somewhere?
A: Sounds like a blown fuse to me, check I would have to see the car not sure off top head where your fuse panel is on that particular make and mode. Look in your owner's manual it'll tell ya where your fuses are and identify their functions. I'm thinking the panel should be down around drivers legs, or under the glove box, some fuses and relays may be under the hood, but I think your best bet is to check in your owner's manual, Or next time your in the parts store browse the haynes book for your car.
Q: Car Audio For 2004 Mazda 6?
I was wondering if it was possible to but a harddrive based system in my mazda 6. If I can have a harddrive where all my music is on in the car maybe even videos where I can play them off. Hooking up the stereo system to a harddrive with all the songs and videos which is connected to a touch screen interface. Is that possible or just me dreaming?
A: its no dream - but reality
hard drive systems are available form past 2 years , the reason nobody buys it is because of its price - too expensive
jvc makes hard drive headunits
but think smarter - buy a usb enabled head unit(very common now almost all units have one) and hook up a high capacity pendrive, there are pen drives available till 32 gb capacity for 25$
do you need more ;) !
so dream more - dream of hooking playstation in the car( that too is very easy)
get a usb enabled dvd player head unit and play all your media
happy booming , good luck
