Q: my mazda 2005 mazda 6?
i have a 2005 mazda 6 225 hp 3.0 L manual. well i want to my car to hiss whenever i change gears. someone told me that is a blow-off valve.
1. what is the cheapest possible way to get my car to hiss when shifting?
2. do i need any other parts to go with the blow-off valve? such as a turbo or something?
3. how much will all this cost?
4. where can i get it installed?
thanks a lot
A: ok let me say this.
1.just by saying the word "hiss" it indicates that you dont need a turbo kit on your car.
2. you cant simply install a bov on a car without the whole kit
3. A crappy universal kit will go for at least $1,500
4. Heres my suggestion for you

Q: 2003 Mazda 6 getting a 2005 Mazda 6 engine?
Ok, I will make this short and easy. I have a 2003 Mazda 6s V6 3.0 L Automatic (5 speed) and the engine basically gave up at 72,000 miles. My mechanic is getting me an engine from a 2005 Mazda 6 V6 3.0 L Automatic (6 speed) with 15,000 miles. My only question is:
Will the 2005 engine work with my 2003 model even though the transmissions were different (5 speed in 2003 and 6 speed in 2005)? My mechanic said that it will work. He's very trustworthy and has many satisfied customers. I just wanted someone else's thought. Please answer if you really know about transmissions/engines. Remember, I am only getting a new engine block and keeping my old transmission (the 5 speed).
Thanks in advance for all the help.
A: I think you've already asked this question and my answer (here and in the personal e-mail) was that it will work but it will not be a 100 percent match. It's not just that transmissions are different, 2003 and 2005 Mazda6 do not have the same engine.
It will affect emissions, torque and fuel consumption. And not in the positive way.
Basically, the ECU of 2003 engine is set up to work with a 5 speed box..... not with a 6 speed. Ratios are different, they are matched to different engine speeds. It works both ways - tranny communicates with the engine, engine with the tranny, via ECU. End of story.
When you first asked the question I talked to my father - a trained mechanic with more than 20-year experience with engines and transmissions of any kind - small cars to tractors. The more sophisticated the engine-trannie, the less successful any swap would be.
Again, we are talking about modern engine-transmission pairing completelly controlled by the electronics. It's not a engine swap in 57'Chevy.
Q: My wife put e85 ethanol fuel in her 2005 Mazda 6 by mistake. What should I do? Will this cause damage?
Has this ever happened to anyone? If so, what did you do?
A: That will depend on how much E85 is in the tank, full tank? Half tank? 1/4 tank ? If there is a small amount , you shouldn't have problems, just dilute it with regular unleaded gas. ( do not use premium to dilute, premium can contain 10% ethanol, most 87 octane fuel only contains 4-5% ethanol.)
Your vehicle can operate safely with up to 10% ethanol.
If she put a whole tankful of E85, that is up to 85% ethanol & that could be a problem but I dont think its serious. call your local Mazda service dept. for advice. You will get much better & more accurate advice from them than @ Yahoo!Answers
Q: A few questions about 2005 Mazda 6 hatchback sedan?
I used to own a 2004 Honda Civic, but being a college student and only working part time, I can't afford my monthly payments. Well I can afford them, but not my insurance (which together, is over $500/month). So, my uncle is going to take over the loan and I'm going to get a new one (cheaper than my Civic so I can afford everything).
Well, I went to many many places today. I didn't really have my mind set on anything specific, but I fell in love with a 2005 Mazda 6 sedan with a hatchback (I'm not sure what the whole name is lol). I drove it and yes, this is the one for me! I'm going to have a mechanic look at it tomorrow. And, it's $10,000! It also has many safety features (ABS, 6 airbags, alarm, etc), so it will lower my insurance because my Civic has nothing; 2 airbags and no alarm.
Now, my question is: Are Mazda's good cars? I have never owned one, nor know anyone who has. Do you have any stories about your Mazdas? I am afraid that I'm going to buy it and I'm going to have a lot of problems. Also, how much does it cost to fix them? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!
Because I bought my Civic for $13,000 and this is $10,000. With my credit, making my payments around $180, not $250, like my Civic. And I talked to my insurance company. I didn't get a quote yet, but asked them about all of the safety features and they said it would bring my rates down a lot. So yeah.
A: why not start by asking your agent how much your insurance will be a vehi having safety features does not do too mch to lower the rates if you cant afford an 04 why would you be able to afford an 06
Q: Problem with my 2005 Mazda 6 Headlights?! Some help please?
I just got a Certified Pre Owned 2005 Mazda 6 about 2 weeks ago. Everything is fine with the car except for a possible problem with the headlights. It's weird because when you turn the knob to turn the lights on, the little sign on the knob says its for the brights but the normal headlights come on. Twice when I turned my lights on at night they stayed on their brightest setting (the brights) instead of the normal headlight setting for nighttime.I've tried to press every button and fix any setting but it just wont budge from being on the brights...then about 15 minutes later they convert back to the normal headlights. I would look at the manuel but I do not have one with me because the car came without one (I have to re-order one). If anyone could help me with this problem who owns a mazda or knows cars in general, that would be great. I'm wondering if it's a simple electrical problem that my warranty can cover and the dealership can fix. Any advice or help would be great...thanks
Basically, the brights come on instead of the normal headlights even when the knob is on the normal headlight setting. This happened to me once last week and tonight (had to drive home with the brights on...not fun or safe)..If anyone has a mazda 6 manuel on hand and can look it up or has had the same experience please let me know
A: I've got an RX8 instead of a 6, but I imagine the headlights work the same, so here goes:
The high-beams do not automatically turn on by anything on the rotating headlight knob. This strictly turns on the head lights to full if rotated fully forward, or driving lights if rotated half-way.
High-beams are activated by pushing the entire headlight-signal light stick forward, and regular lights resume by pulling it back to it's neutral position. Pulling back further is to "flash the brights" and the stick only stays there as long as you hold it.
It could be that you are pushing the stick forward (and putting it into "bright" mode) accidently when you are signalling a turn, and just as accidently bring it back to normal mode as well.
Q: 2005 mazda 6 2.3 stalled check dip stick no oil i added oil it started ran for 1/2 hr then no start?

A: There is serious damage to your engine. Tow it to a mechanic.
Q: I HAVE A 2005 MAZDA 6 AND WHEN I TURN THE WHEEL, IT MAKE A POPPING SOUND, WHAT COULD IT BE, TIE ROD, STRUT?
A FEW PEOPLE HAVE SAID TIE ROD, STRUT, WHEEL BEARING, ANY PROFESSIONALS ON HERE THAT COULD GIVE ME SOUND ADVICE
A: Most likely it is the CV joints, if happens when going forward with the wheel turned. Probably gets louder or more frequent when accelerating, right?
The other things you mention would make these kinds of sounds:
Rods (steering), struts (suspension) one or at most two pops when turning, even when car is standing still.
Wheel bearings: howling or whinning noise, gets louder and/or higher in pitch as speed increase.
Chances are, only one CV joint is making the noise, although you will probably want to replace all 4 (2 per side of the car) at the same time. Unfortunately, this is not an inexpensive repair- figure on about $600 or more, and you will probably have to replace the entire half-shaft. The good news is the new CV joints will probably last the life of the car. Frankly, the originals should have gone alot longer, unless you are driving the car VERY hard or the rubber boots that keep dust out of them are torn. The repair MAY be covered under the manufacturer's warranty, even if you are not the original owner. Check with a Mazda dealer, ask if they are covered BEFORE you leave it with anyone (INCLUDING the dealer) for repairs.
Q: 2005 Mazda 6 radio upgrade?
I want to upgrade my standard mazda 6 radio to the 6cd changer. What do I need to do in order to do that? Do I need to buy extra wires or splice any?
A: You can order a CD changer module from the dealer. It should come with a new 6 disc CD changer module and a new face plate and screws. The upgrade is simple. You remove the old CD player module and install new changer. Pulling the whole audio unit out to swap the CD change is easy but there is a bold on the side of the audio unit you need to remove first. Drop the glove box and use a extension with 10mm socket to remove the bold.
Q: where can I buy the factory navigation unit for my 2005 mazda 6?
A: Try the Mazda category, this is the Acura section.
Q: Problem with 2005 Mazda 6 lights?
Just got the car 2 weeks ago...everything is perfectly fine except for 2 times when my brights came on instead of my normal headlights..the setting on the knob to turn the headlight on is fine but for some reason the brights come on. So irritating and after about 15-20 minutes, my normal headlights come back on. any help, please!
A: Take it to a mazda dealer you could have a short!
Q: I am thinking about purchasing a 2005 Mazda 6. Any pros or cons I should know before purchasing?
A: well over all the Mazda 6 is definitely peppy, quick on the starts and handles well. I personally like the ability they have so you can switch into a fake manual from a regular automatic. Also it's pretty good with gas mileage.
Some cons : I'm not a fan of the center console. Seems huge and out of place. But it comes with a 6 CD changer so I'm really not complaining
Overall it's a great car with some minor cons. I know two people who have a Mazda 6 and they love it.
